Welcome to our "Fun Stinks" web site.  This is an annual civic event to celebrate "Elephant Garlic".  Come and join in all the festivities.  This event is sponsored by: North Plains Chamber of Commerce, Tuality Healthcare, West Coast Bank, and others.

"A Vote For Stinkee Is A Vote For Fun"

The Elephant Garlic Festival has attracted thousands to North Plains for the three day event since its beginning in 1998!

ELEPHANT GARLIC STEW 1 Elephant Brown Gravy Salt and pepper to taste 2 Rabbits 3800 Garlic Bulbs Cut Elephant into bite-size pieces (this will take about 4 months). Cook over kerosene at 525° until tender (about 5 months). Add salt and pepper and cover with brown gravy. This will serve 3,800 people. If more are expected, add 2 rabbits. Do this if only absolutely necessary, as most people do not like to find hare in their stew.

The festival features entertainment of all kinds--from the kid's stage, jammin' blues, and blues grass, an arts and crafts mall, and a beer and wine garden.

What would a festival be without games,  a parade and a Smelly King and Queen? Come celebrate in North Plains~  Where FUN STINKS!
